Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
Privacy Policy
The short version. The full policy below is what counts, but in plain words:
- We only keep what yoBreeder needs to work: your profile and photos, and roughly where you are — so we can show you men nearby.
- Other members never see your exact location — everyone is blurred by half a mile to a mile and a quarter — unless you choose to send it to someone in a private chat.
- We don’t sell your information, and there are no advertising trackers or third-party analytics on yoBreeder.
- We use a handful of companies to run the app — hosting, payments, email, maps and AI features — and this page lists every one of them and what they get.
- We actively look for illegal activity — drug dealing, paid sex, scams, and anything involving anyone under 18. Anything we find is reviewed by a person, and suspected child exploitation is reported to the authorities.
- Video calls and the Share stage go straight between phones. We don’t record or store them.
- You can delete your account whenever you like. It disappears from yoBreeder for everyone, and we keep a private internal record for safety and legal reasons.

1. Who we are
yoBreeder (“yoBreeder”, “we”, “us”) is a dating and social app for gay and bisexual men, available at yobreeder.com and operated from Miami, Florida, USA. We are responsible for the personal information described here. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service.
2. What we collect
What you give us
- Account: your username, email address, password and date of birth. Your password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form — we can’t read it. Your date of birth is used to confirm you are 18 or older; your age is shown on your profile, your exact date never is.
- Profile: up to five photos, a profile video, a voice note, your bio, whether you are a Breeder, Receiver or Both, and any details you choose to add — height, weight, body type, hair colour, ethnicity, HIV status, interests, what you’re looking for, and whether you’re open to groups. Ethnicity and HIV status are optional, and you can leave them out.
- Q&A answers you give to Cypher’s “getting to know you” questions. These are shown on your profile.
- What you send: private messages, photos you send in chat, locations you choose to share, reactions, posts in the public room and group chats.
- Reports, blocks and favourites you make.
Your location
- If your browser allows it, your phone’s precise location is sent to us when you sign up and each time you open Browse. We keep only your latest position — no history of where you have been.
- We work out the name of your city or neighbourhood from it.
- If your phone doesn’t share its location when you sign up, we estimate your city from your internet (IP) address instead.
What’s collected automatically
- Whether you are online, and when you were last active.
- Which profiles you view — shown to the member you viewed if he has Premium, unless you are in incognito mode.
- A random ID your browser creates, used to count visits and see where people get stuck during sign-up. It is not your IP address or a device fingerprint.
- How you found us — the website, search engine or ad link that brought you — and whether you added yoBreeder to your home screen.
- If you turn on notifications, the push address your browser gives us so we can reach your device.
We don’t store your IP address in our database. It is held briefly in memory to stop repeated login attempts, and at sign-up it may be sent to a location service to estimate your city (see section 5).
From sign-in services
If you sign up with Google (or Apple or Facebook, where offered), that service gives us your email address and an account ID, and — for Google and Facebook — a link to your profile picture. We never use your real name as your yoBreeder username.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and a Stripe customer ID. We never see or store your full card number.
3. How we use it
- To run yoBreeder — showing you members near you and how far away they are, delivering messages, calls and alerts, and letting Cypher match you on what you say you want.
- For Premium and payments — billing, renewals, cancellations and Premium features.
- For safety — acting on reports, enforcing our Terms and the 18+ rule, and spotting scams and spam. We actively look for illegal activity. We regularly check public areas — profiles and the 24/7 Room — for things like drug dealing and buying or selling sex, and we check messages for known scam patterns (such as fake “verification” links or requests for money) and for anything involving anyone under 18. These checks look for patterns of words; they do not send your messages to an AI. Anything flagged is reviewed by a person; nothing is banned automatically. We don’t routinely read private conversations, but we may look at them when investigating a report, a safety or fraud concern, or when the law requires it.
- To improve sign-up — seeing which steps people leave at, so we can fix them.
- To run the business — our team is notified when someone joins (username, email, age, role and city) or subscribes.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use any third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
4. What other members can see
- Your username, photos, profile video, voice note and bio.
- Your age (never your date of birth), your role, your city, and the profile details you chose to fill in — including your HIV status unless you choose “Don’t wish to disclose”.
- Your Q&A answers.
- Whether you are online, and when you were last active.
- An approximate distance, and a blurred position on the map. Every member’s map position is moved between half a mile and a mile and a quarter from where he really is, the same way every time, so it can’t be averaged out.
- Your exact location only if you send it to someone yourself with the 📍 button in a private chat.
Incognito (Premium) hides you from Browse, the map and Cypher, and stops your visits being recorded. You still appear to men you message, and to anyone who opens your profile directly.
Blocking works both ways: you and the member you block disappear from each other everywhere on yoBreeder, and the conversation between you is hidden from both of you.
A note about photos and videos you upload: they are delivered to members by direct link, so anyone who has the link to a particular photo can open it. Treat anything you send — especially in chat — as something the person who receives it could keep.
5. Who we share it with
We use these companies to run yoBreeder. Each gets only what it needs for its job.
| Company | What it does | What it receives |
| Railway | Hosts our servers, database and uploaded files | Everything stored on yoBreeder |
| Vercel | Hosts the website | Your visits to yobreeder.com |
| Stripe | Payments | Your email, card details (entered on Stripe’s own page), and your yoBreeder account ID |
| Resend | Sends our emails | Your email address and the content of emails we send you |
| Anthropic | Powers the AI features | The profile details listed in section 6 — never your private messages |
| Google | Sign-in; connecting video calls; fonts; the face-blur model | Sign-in details if you use Google; your IP address when your browser loads these |
| Apple, Facebook | Sign-in, where offered | Sign-in details, if you choose to use them |
| OpenStreetMap (Nominatim), BigDataCloud | Turn coordinates into a city name | Your coordinates |
| ipwho.is, ipapi.co, GeoJS | Estimate your city at sign-up when your phone doesn’t share its location | Your IP address |
| Esri | Map images | Your IP address and the map area you are looking at |
| jsDelivr | Delivers the face-blur software to your browser | Your IP address |
| Push services (Google, Apple, Mozilla) | Deliver notifications to your device | The notification, which shows the sender’s username — never the message |
| Ad networks (e.g. ExoClick) | If you arrived from one of their ads | Only their own click reference, so they can count a sign-up — nothing about you |
Voice features — talking to Cypher, voice navigation and dictating messages — use your browser’s own speech recognition. Depending on your browser, your voice may be sent to its maker (for example Google, in Chrome, or Apple, in Safari) to be turned into text. We receive only the text.
We may also share information:
- with other members, as described in section 4;
- when the law requires it, or when we believe it is necessary to protect someone from harm. We report suspected child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children;
- if yoBreeder is sold or merged, with the new owner, who would have to honour this policy — and we would tell you first.
6. AI features
Some features use AI from Anthropic. It receives only what each feature needs, processes it to produce the reply, and under its commercial terms may not use it to train its models.
- Break the Ice writes conversation openers. It sends your role, interests, what you’re looking for, body type and ethnicity; and his role, age, body type, ethnicity, interests, what he’s looking for, city, and the first part of his bio.
- First Move suggests someone to message. It sends your role and city, and the suggested man’s username, age, role, city, distance and the first part of his bio.
- Cypher matches you on what you ask for. It sends what you say or type to Cypher, your recent Cypher conversation, and your role and city.
Your private messages are never sent to an AI. Suggestions are generated automatically and can be wrong; nothing is sent to anyone unless you choose to send it.
7. Video calls and the Share stage
- Video calls and the Share stage go directly between phones. Our servers only help the two devices find each other. We do not record or store any of it.
- Because the connection is direct, the other person’s device can see your IP address, as with any direct video call.
- The AI face blur runs entirely on your phone. Your camera picture is never sent to us or to anyone else for blurring.
- The Share stage’s loop option records to your own device only. It is never uploaded.
8. Emails and notifications
- Password-reset emails, when you ask for one.
- The first time someone messages you, one email to let you know. After that, message emails only if you switch them on in your profile, at the frequency you choose.
- Occasional emails about yoBreeder, such as Premium, each with an unsubscribe link.
- Push notifications, if you turn them on. They show who messaged you, never what he said.
9. What’s stored on your device
yoBreeder does not use cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage to keep you logged in (for up to 90 days), keep a copy of your own profile and settings, remember unsent messages and recently sent photos, cache the Browse list so it loads quickly, and hold the random visit ID described in section 2. Logging out clears your login and the Browse cache. Clearing your browser’s data for yobreeder.com removes all of it.
10. How long we keep it
- While your account is open, we keep your information so the app can work. Only your latest location is kept.
- Password-reset links expire after one hour. Logins expire after 90 days.
- If you unsend a message, its text is removed for both of you and “Message deleted” is shown in its place.
When you delete your account
- Your profile, photos and messages disappear from yoBreeder for everyone, straight away.
- Private messages between you and other members are deleted from both sides of each conversation.
- Messages you posted in group chats stay, without your name.
- If you have Premium, it is cancelled so you aren’t charged again.
- We keep a private internal record of the account for safety, fraud-prevention and legal purposes. It holds your account details as they were when you deleted it (never your password), any reports made about or by you, simple activity counts, and your uploaded photos and videos — which are moved to private storage that can’t be reached from the internet. It is never shown to anyone on yoBreeder. We keep it for as long as it is needed for those purposes.
- Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires. Emails already sent can’t be recalled, and our server logs may contain your email address for a limited time.
11. Your choices and rights
- See and change your profile at any time in the app. To change your email address, contact us.
- Delete your account yourself, from your profile, whenever you like.
- Location: you can stop sharing it in your browser’s settings for yobreeder.com. We then stop receiving new readings; the last position we had stays on your account until it is updated, or until you ask us to remove it.
- Emails: switch message emails off in your profile, and use the unsubscribe link in any other email.
- Notifications: turn them off in your browser or phone settings.
- Block anyone, and use incognito with Premium.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it — including the internal record kept after an account is deleted — by emailing us. We will answer within 45 days. Where we have to keep something for legal or safety reasons, we will tell you what and why.
California residents
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Sensitive information — which can include your sexual orientation (implied by using yoBreeder), HIV status, ethnicity and precise location — is used only to provide the service you asked for. You have the right to know what we hold about you, to have it deleted or corrected, and not to be treated differently for using these rights.
Members in the EU and UK
We rely on these legal bases: contract, to run your account; legitimate interests, for safety, fraud prevention, improving sign-up and keeping records of deleted accounts; consent, for your precise location and the optional sensitive details you choose to add, which you can withdraw at any time by removing them or turning location off; and legal obligation. You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your information, or object to how we use it, and you can complain to your local data-protection authority. Your information is processed in the United States.
12. Children
yoBreeder is strictly for men aged 18 and over, and every member must give a date of birth before sending messages. We actively look for anyone who says he is under 18, and for anyone looking for someone who is — in profiles, the 24/7 Room, group chats and messages. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it from yoBreeder immediately. We report suspected child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and cooperate with the police.
13. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords only in hashed form, blur every member’s location before it leaves our server, and keep deleted accounts’ files off the public internet. No system is perfectly secure, though, and photos and videos you upload are delivered by direct link, as explained in section 4. If you think your account has been accessed by someone else, change your password and tell us.
14. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as yoBreeder changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app before they take effect.
